Torsional Network Model

  1. The TNM program computes the normal modes of the structure-based (elastic network) model of a protein of known structure in the space of torsion angles.
For each residue, the degrees of freedom are the the phi and psi angles of the protein backbone (optionally chi and side-chains) and the rigid body degrees of freedom of protein chains or parts of the chain separated by disordered regions not seen in the protein structure.
The TNM displace backbone atoms including C β maintaining their covalent geometry.
